Credit Card Payoff Calculator
Three numbers in, two truths out: how long this balance will really take to clear, and what the interest will cost you along the way.
Why minimum payments take decades
Minimum payments are usually set around 1–3% of the balance — barely above the monthly interest. Most of each payment feeds the interest, not the balance. Bumping the payment even modestly shifts that ratio hard in your favor, which is why small increases cut years off the timeline.
Avalanche or snowball?
Avalanche (highest APR first) saves the most money; snowball (smallest balance first) builds momentum with quick wins. Both work — the one you'll stick with is the right one. Whichever you choose, keep every other card's utilization low while you focus fire.
